Thanks to the Surface Technology Working Group, the event was held on the premises of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
The morning was devoted to association matters. The Executive Board, Advisory Board and auditors were elected for the next two years.
The afternoon was devoted to the current challenges posed by European chemicals regulation and its impact on surface technology. A number of guest presentations examined the regulatory and economic framework from various perspectives.
To conclude, Dr Malte Zimmer, Dr Marko Sušnik, Clemens Zinkl, Andrea Thome-Böck and Matthias Enseling discussed the future of the industry during the ‘Wiener Melange’ panel discussion. The focus was on possible approaches to more efficient regulation, including the avoidance of duplicate regulations, greater harmonisation, legal aspects and the simplification of regulatory and administrative procedures.
We would like to thank all the speakers, panellists, supporters and members for their participation and their enthusiastic contributions.
The presentations from the event, as well as highlights from Vienna, are available in the members-only area of our website.
