On 30 June 2026, ECHA held a webinar on the ongoing public consultation regarding the SEAC’s draft opinion on the proposed restriction of Cr(VI).
The focus was exclusively on SEAC’s socio-economic assessments. However, the RAC’s particularly controversial proposals regarding future exposure and emission limit values will not be the subject of the public consultation.
SEAC is now asking the affected companies, in particular, to submit comments on:
- the technical feasibility of the proposed limit values
- the time required for implementation
- practical verifiability, and
- the associated costs
The information submitted should be supported by robust evidence and will be taken into account in the finalisation of the SEAC opinion.
VECCO is supporting its members in drafting comments and calls on all stakeholders to do the same. The SEAC public consultation closes on 17 August 2026.
